Zillertal Ski Areas

The ski areas of Zillertal encompass some 640 kilometers of slopes, of which around 80 km are black-rated, 400 km red and 165 km blue. The 167 state-of-the-art lifts and cable cars make it possible to experience incomparable skiing enjoyment at elevations from 500 to over 3,000 meters above sea level.
Skiing in Zillertal is also about perfect transportation connections, including 26 ski-bus lines, a super ski pass and all kinds of fringe programs for skiers and winter sports fans.

Tip: Hotel Kristall in Gerlos boasts both an exceptional location, close to the valley run (just 150 m away), as well as free ski-bus service (stops right in front of the hotel)!

Ski Areas in Zillertal

Zillertal Arena

163 km of slopes| elev. 1,250 - 2,500 m

With 163 km of outstandingly groomed ski slopes, the Zillertal Arena is one of the biggest ski areas in Austria. Skiing on a variety of slopes, all levels of difficulty represented, plus 50 lifts and cable cars, makes the Zillertal Arena THE ski area of the Zillertal.
Ski at elevations up to 2,500 m above sea level in Zell, Gerlos (Tyrol), Königsleiten/Wald and Krimml/Hochkrimml (Salzburg). The ca. 35 ski huts, numerous snow bars and restaurants, as well as the ski schools, offer skiing enjoyment and the delights of winter for everyone. For fans of cross-country skiing, the Höhenloipe at 1,600 meters above sea level is a fantastic experience. The Zillertal Arena is justifiably known amongst winter sports fans as "seventh heaven".

Tip: Valley run just 150 m from the hotel, free ski shuttle stops right outside our front door.

Spieljoch Fügen

21 km of slopes | elev. 550 - 2,020 m

This family-friendly ski area in Zillertal offers 21 km of outstandingly groomed slopes, along with a total of 8 lifts. Magical deep-snow hills also make this ski area interesting to true pros.

Ski-Optimal Hochfügen-Hochzillertal

155 km of slopes | elev. 1560 - 2,501 m

The ski area for fun on the slopes until Easter! Extraordinary elevations between 1500 and 2500 m guarantee a long winter season in the Hochfügen-Hochzillertal ski area. Hochfügen is reached via a very well maintained scenic road. Once in the high valley, you are greeted by a spacious ski area flanked by a magical alpine world.

Mayrhofen Mountain Lifts

157 km of slopes | elev. 630 - 2,500 m

Around 160 kilometers of slopes, from beginner to expert, 48 lifts, and reliable snow conditions at elevations up to 2500 meters! A great tip for daredevils: skiing down the "Harakiri", Austria's steepest hill reaching grades as much as 78%.
Boarders and freeskiers also get their money's worth at the "Vans Penken Park“ in Mayrhofen.

Ski & Glacier World Zillertal 3000

227 km of slopes | elev. 630 - 3.250 m

Austria's most attractive and only glacial ski area, with around 230 km of slopes, and powder guaranteed from October until May. The ski slopes are reachable via the Eggalm, Penken, Rastkogel and Hintertuxer Glacier.
Even the ride on the glacier bus promises magical views. One step closer to heaven itself, you can enjoy the scenic terrace, the snowpark, the Tuxer Fernerhaus, the summer mountain lift, along with the exciting 12 km-long ski run back down to the valley (serviced by snowmakers).

Via this tour's suggested routes, in one day you will span 15,000 vertical meters, and 72 km of variety-packed ski slopes ranging from 630 meters to 3,250 meters above sea level, all in the midst of Ski & Glacier World Zillertal 3000.
